Hi all.
I have a couple questions in regards to open office.
I recently installed open office on my windows 7 pc with no problems. When I checked in the options menu, the program was already set up to use the java framework, and had assistive technology mode enabled. For reference, I am using the latest jfw version.
I installed the same program (open office 4.1) on a windows 8 machine today, and it completely tanked.
The program opens, but I can't use any menus. If I go into the tools menu and click options, it crashes the whole program.
I have jfw, the latest java runtime, and java access bridge in enabled.
I'm not even sure if the java runtime is working correctly, and wonder if that might be the issue.
At any rate, my ms office 2010 key is no longer working and I desperately need a ms office level word processing solution on this computer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Have you check to see if that version of open office is compatible with Windows 8?
Also, you can get 2 fresh installs on your Office 2010.
When you go to install it, it ask for your key.
You put that in and let iit install.
Now when you open a program, it tells you it need to be activated.
Use the phone option.
When you use the phone option, you'll find the telephone number to call, and you'll also get a long numger to input when you get the automated system online.
I wrote it down.
You be ask questions, so next after you complete that, it gives you a code to type in your activation window.
I had to just type that as it was spoken.
You can also get a person on the phone to assist. Just tell them you want to remove your activation from your other computers, and install it on your new ones.
